Maggie's Dead.com
Margaret Thatcher was the 1980s Conservative prime minister who brought destruction to industries and working class communities like South Yorkshire. The deliberately engineered miners' strike smashed the unions. Repressive laws banned many forms of freedoms to party and protest. Public assets were sold cheaply into private hands, and the bankers got massively richer. This is an unapologetic campaign to get Thatcher's death anthem to No.1 on her death, when it happens.
Sheffield Anarchist Feminist Network
Some anarchist feminists in Sheffield have created a network to share ideas, work together in direct action and join together in solidarity. We invite anyone who wishes to discuss anarchist feminist issues, whether they would class themselves as anarchist feminist or not, to join us in at our meetings or events, regardless of gender. We only require that people are respectful and we reject all racist, sexist and homophobic views because this network is a liberated space.
Barnsley Freegle
Freegle means Free Giving, Locally, Easily. It's an online re-use network, an alternative to Freecycle, for people to keep stuff out of landfill by giving away things they don't want, to people who can use them. Joining involves having a Yahoo account, which is free and easy. Most towns has a group, and Barnsley's was started in 2010.
